Lock a PDF.
Locally.
Uploading a document to a website just to protect it defeats the purpose. Here the encryption runs in your browser.

How to do it
Drop the PDF, keep PDF as the target, open Options, type a password and convert. The result is encrypted with AES-256.
Remove a password you know
Drop a locked PDF, enter its password when asked, and convert to PDF without a new password to get an unlocked copy.
Also for ZIP files
ZIP archives can be created with AES-256 passwords too, and password-protected ZIPs can be opened and converted.

Questions
Can you recover a lost password?
No. We never see the file or the password, and AES-256 can't be broken by guessing a good password.
