Privacy

Your files never leave your device. Conversions run in your browser; the server never receives a file, a file name or any file content.

What the site sends

  • After a successful conversion: one request to /api/count with the number of files and their total size in bytes. Nothing else.
  • Your IP address is used only to rate-limit that counter (15 GB and 1000 files per minute) and is forgotten after at most two minutes.
  • The first time you convert audio, video or a rare image format, your browser downloads the conversion engine (ffmpeg or ImageMagick, compiled to WebAssembly) from this site. Only if that fails does it fall back to the public CDN jsDelivr, which then sees an ordinary download request, not your file.

What is stored on your device

  • A NEXT_LOCALE cookie with the language you chose.
  • In local storage: your converter options per category and accessibility settings.
  • Your files exist only in the memory of the open tab and disappear when you close it.

Analytics

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics (and, if enabled, a self-hosted Umami) counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
  • We don't use Google Analytics or any advertising trackers.
  • A “convert” event can include the source and target format, the category and a size range (such as 1–10 MB). Never the file name or content.

Check it yourself

  1. Open the developer tools: F12, or ⌥⌘I on a Mac.
  2. Go to the Network tab and convert a file.
  3. You'll see the page and engine files being downloaded and one small POST to /api/count like {"bytes":12345,"count":1}. No request contains your file.
  4. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page and engine have loaded — conversions keep working.
